Earlier today, we officially unveiled a 19-member Local Organizing Committee that will spearhead the hosting of the forthcoming Confederation of African Athletics CAA and U20 championships scheduled to be hosted in Lusaka, Zambia this year between the 19th and 23rd of April 2023.
This will be the first time Zambia will host the U-20 continental athletics championship which will attract at least 50 African countries.
In our remarks at the unveiling event, we stated that Zambia is ready to host the event with all the facilities to be in good condition before the end of this month, following the renovation that will be undertaken.
We also added that the New Dawn Government through our Ministry aims to make full use of the event to gain international exposure and develop sports in the country.

2. MR. ELIAS MPONDELA – Zambia Athletics President; he will serve as a Committee Member for the upcoming championship.
3. MR. JOHN ZULU – Director of Sport Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts; will serve as a committee member.
4. MS. MIZINGA MELU – ABSA Bank Chief Executive Officer.
5. MR. DURBAN KAMBAKI – Good Times Steel Deputy Managing Director.
6. MS. CHARITY LUMPA – Business Consultant.
7. MRS. AGNES CHAKANTA – Madison Life Managing Director
