The District Advisory Committee (DSAC) members based on the Copperbelt held a meeting which was spearheaded by Ministry of Youth,Sport and Arts in conjunction with National Sports Council of Zambia.
Acting National Sports Council General Secretary Raphael Mulenga noted on the importance of engaging stakeholders in sports development.
“If we have to improve in the area of sports development we need to involve our stakeholders, sports administrators, federations and the District Advisory Committees are very critical. It’s important that we engage them and make sure that we share information which is available, more importantly things have changed on a positive note the Ministry has decentralized through the department of Sports. We expect the people from the local authorities and District Advisory Committee to be on top of things in terms of community Sports which can be used as a foundation for higher competitions at national level, regional, continental and international said Mr. Mulenga.
Mr. Victor Kabeleka, Chairman for DSAC Ndola emphasized on the need to establish DSAC offices in other districts to enable smooth operations in coordinating various sports disciplines and to also strengthen the operations of the NSCZ.
Key topics deliberated on were Governance in Sports and Sports Marketing. The Coaching Framework books was also distributed to the conveners.
The meeting held in Ndola is a continuous exercise which was also conducted in Lusaka.
