COPPER QUEENS QUALIFY TO THE 2024 WAFCON WITH A 12 – 0 BANG!

The energy inside the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium tonight was electric. The crowd was buzzing with excitement, eagerly waiting for the start of the highly-anticipated match between the Feisty Copper Queens and Angola’s Welwitschias. It’s was the first time the Copper Queens where playing at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium and fans where eager to watch the match. For the Copper Queens, this was more than just a game – it was a statement. They were determined to secure their place in the 2024 WAFCON tournament.
As the Copper Queens exploded onto the field, their movements fluid and precise. From the opening kickoff, it was clear that they were here to play.
It wasn’t long before the deadlock was broken a cross from Lushomo Mweemba found the run of Racheal kundananji who shot past the keeper to open the scoring. Team skipper Barbra Banda made it two for Zambia turning the Stadium into a frenzy.
The Copper Queens continued their attacking prowess and Susan Banda’s long-shot goal from outside the 18-yard box left fans stunned as they erupted into cheers!
Avel Chitundu who had come on as a substitute in the second half made her mark with a brilliant fourth goal for the team. Esther Banda, another talented player on the squad, added a fifth goal, leaving the opposing team reeling.
Racheal Kundananji later sealed the deal with the final goal of the game, making it 6-0 and 12 – 0 on aggregate. Fans jubilated as the players celebrated their dominating victory.
The Copper Queens have secured their spot in the 2024 WAFCON tournament and are ready to take on Africa.
