
On Friday 13th September 2024, the Ministry of Youth Sport and Arts launched five ministerial strategic documents namely National Sport Policy, Communication Strategy 2024-2027, E-Strategy, Gifts and Benefits Policy as well as the Strategic plan 2022-2026.
The documents will guide the efforts of the Ministry towards development of the youth, Sport and Arts sectors and contribute to Zambia’s attainment of the objectives of the Vision 2030, the 8th National Development plan and Sustainable Development goals.
The launch of the documents is a culmination of extensive consultations, research and collaboration among various stakeholders. The documents reflect the aspirations of the youth, sports persons and artists by aligning with national priorities aimed at addressing the challenges affecting youth, Sport and Arts sectors.
The documents further provide opportunities for enhanced stakeholder collaboration and program implementation.
NATIONAL SPORT POLICY
The National Sport Policy has been designed to create sustainable, inclusive and robust sporting environment that maximizes the potential of every citizen and promotes mass participation in sport and physical activities in communities.
It promotes economic development, community sports development, inclusion, integrity in sports, health and wellness of citizens.
STRATEGIC PLAN 2022 – 2026
The Ministry strategic plan has been designed to ensure the maximization of potential of the Ministry’s resources, strengthen governance and enhance service delivery to the citizens.
The plan serves as a roadmap to achieve the Ministry s key developmental objectives through the promotion, coordination and implementation of Youth, Sport and Arts programs.
COMMUNICATION STRATEGY 2024 -2027
The communication strategy allows the Ministry to engage the public, promote transparency and accountability, drive meaningful dialogue and combat misinformation.
It is designed to ensure that the Ministry’s messages are clear, the citizens are well informed, and the Ministry’s goals are understood by all.
E-STRATEGY
The launch of the E-Strategy signals Government’s commitment to building a ministry that is more accessible, responsible and efficient. The E- strategy seeks to harness the power of technology to streamline the Ministry’s operations, enhance service delivery and create an environment where innovation thrives.
GIFTS AND BENEFITS POLICY
The Gifts and Benefits Policy has been developed to provide clear guidance on how public workers should manage and respond to offers of gifts, hospitality or other benefits in the course of duty.
The policy aims at promoting ethical conduct, prevention of conflicts of interest, fostering transparency and accountability, defining acceptable gifts and strengthening public trust.
The Launch of these important documents is a further call to action and invitation to all to strive for excellence, work together to create a Zambia where the youth are empowered, sport is celebrated, and arts and culture thrive.
