The department of Arts is mandated to promote, develop, coordinate and implement all Arts interventions with the aim of contributing to economic.

Its mission is to facilitate the development, promotion and nurturing of all forms of amateur and professional arts countrywide.

The main functions are:

1. Development of the Arts and Film Policies to provide a framework for the sector

2. Coordinate, maintain and develop related Arts Infrastructure

3. Coordinate and monitor arts business and creative industries

4. Develop International Platform for Arts Cooperation 

5. Conduct in -house Capacity Building programmes for officers as well as the arts sectors for different levels

6. Promote arts business with the use of IT
